1. Philadelphia is home to a number of "firsts," not the least of which is the Philadelphia Zoo, the oldest zoo in America. The city is home to the first hospital and medical school in the country as well.
2. The city features over 2,000 outdoor murals, and is considered the mural capital of the nation. The initiative was originally started to combat rampant graffiti in the city.
3. Philadelphia hosts sports teams for all four major sports with all of them winning it all in their respective sports. Beyond that, the "city of champions" also hosted the Wing Bowl, where upwards of 20,000 spectators gathered every Friday before the Super Bowl from 1993 - 2018 to see who could eat the most chicken wings in 30 minutes. Molly Schuyler holds the record for 501 wings eaten in the half-hour span in what would be the final iteration of the Wing Bowl. The event was canceled after 2018 thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles, the city's NFL team, winning its first championship in franchise history.
