Q: What size storage containers do you have?
Well, we have two container sizes for storage and moving.
Storage Container: It’s a 15ft container (7ft high, 7ft wide and 15ft long) with 105 square feet of space. It can comfortably hold 2-3 furnished rooms of furniture and boxes.
Moving size: you can use a 10ft or 15ft container for long distance moving.
*A container can hold up to 4,500 pounds worth of belongings
Q: How big is the Zippy Shell?
The Zippy Shell trailer is 10.5 feet wide, 11 feet high and 22 feet long from the hitch to the back. The trailer is low to the ground with a pull-out ramp at the back, so you don’t have to step up during the loading/unloading process.
Q: Is it like other mobile storage companies?
Our container is brought to you in our Zippy Shell, which is the trailer. Our Zippy Shell is on wheels and has a license plate so it can park in places other companies can’t. Our Zippy Shell is pulled by a hitch attached to a regular sized truck then unhitched at your property, unlike the tractor trailer trucks other companies have that need a hydraulic system to unload a container that sits directly on your property.
Q: What if I live in an apartment/townhouse/condo; can I park the Zippy Shell there?
Yes. (If parallel parking) the Zippy Shell is about the length of 2 cars, so we ask to have that much space available in order to park it. (If in an apartment/condo/townhouse parking lot) double check if we need a parking pass or if there is a designated parking area for us. If not, let them know it’s just a little wider than a single parking spot so 2 open parking spots right next to each other is best.
Q: Can you just leave it on my property for as long as I need it?
We are a portable self-storage company. We allow 1, 2, or even 3 days for the Zippy Shell to be on your property. After that, we’ll pick it up and bring it back to our secure, temperature controlled indoor facility. If you need your things back, they are just a phone call away.
Q: How does your process work?
The container we deliver comes in our Zippy Shell, which is our trailer on wheels. There is a ramp that pulls out for easy loading. We bring the Zippy Shell right to you, and you’ll have it up to 3 days to fill the container up. When you’re ready, we’ll pick it up and bring it back to our secure, temperature controlled indoor facility. Typical ETA for all deliveries is between 8am-12pm but moving is an all-day affair so you will be notified if for any reason the ETA for your delivery will be outside of that window. Zippy Shell process may vary location to location.
Q: Can I just bring my belongings to your facility?
You can. We can *stage a container for you at our facility (place container in Zippy Shell) for you to load (wouldn’t have to pay a delivery fee). We are a portable self-storage company.
Q: What does the delivery fee include?
The delivery fee may differ from location to location. The delivery fee may include the Zippy Shell delivery to you with up to 3 days to fill the container. The delivery fee may also include the pickup of the container to bring back to our facility. It is a onetime fee that will be on your first invoice.
The re-delivery fee may differ from location to location. The re-delivery fee includes the drop-off of you belongings to your designated address after your storage period has completed de.
Q: Do I have to buy your insurance?
Since most homeowner policies don’t cover your belongings when they are outside of your home, we have content protection plans that will provide full replacement value. This way you don’t have to add something to your existing policy then have to take it off later. Our local operator can go over this in more detail with you.
Q: Do you have supplies like blankets or boxes?
Yes, we do. Once we get you in contact with our local operator, they will go over what they have to offer and the prices.
Q: I saw your container online, is it a cage?
There are openings all around our container. People tend to and stay away from completely enclosed containers. Containers with no openings don’t allow your things to breathe. Our containers promote airflow to preserve your belongings. The openings also allow you to tie things down and secure them from the floor or sides of our container.
Q: Can I just move the trailer around if I need to when it’s on my property? What’s stopping someone from taking it?
For insurance purposes, we want only our certified drivers moving the Zippy Shell. When we park it for you, we put a block on the hitch that only we can remove to prevent anyone from hitching your container up to a truck and taking it away.
Q: Do you provide people to help load and pack our Zippy Shell?
Packing, loading, and unloading labor for your Zippy Shell can be provided by our local operators. If your local Zippy Shell operator cannot provide these services, then our sales center can recommend some providers in your area that can help.
Q: How does payment work?
Zippy Shell will collect 50% of your move balance 2 business days prior to your initial container delivery date. The remaining 50% will be billed once you’re moving container lands at the Zippy Shell destination warehouse, or on the 31st day after your initial origin delivery date, whichever dates comes first.
Q: Do you do delivery/pick up on Sunday?

Q: What if I get the one container and I need another one?
We will bring another one to you. We can let you fill up that first one, and when we come to pick that up, we’ll bring an empty Zippy Shell with us for you to load.
