Zippy Shell makes moving and storage simple. With numerous locations across the United States, Zippy Shell provides a complete suite of services from local and long-distance moving, mobile and on-site storage, and loading and unloading assistance. By combining the benefits of traditional moving services with the safety and convenience of mobile container solutions, Zippy Shell gives its customers the flexibility to move or store their stuff on their terms.

Our History

Zippy Shell was founded in Australia in 2007 and was one of Australia's first mobile storage businesses to operate in the country. It operated for two years, building a customer base of over 500 customers before being sold as a ‘Master Franchise’ to Grace Removals Group, one of Asia’s largest moving companies.

In 2010 Zippy Shell USA, LLC launched in the United States. The company's previous success in Australia was a clear indicator that the business model would work in the United States. Zippy Shell USA, LLC became incorporated as of June 2015 and is now formally identified as Zippy Shell Incorporated. The service remains competitive with the simple formula - give the convenience of portable storage at the cost of traditional.

In 2018, Zippy Shell merged with 1-800-PACK-RAT, another portable storage and moving company headquartered in Wake Forest, NC, with Zippy Shell CEO Mark Kuhns assuming the same role for both brands. The merger has given both brands the ability to combine ideas and technology to make moving and storage simpler for their customers, providing a broader suite of services.

Our Mission

Our primary mission is to make moving and storage simple for our customers. We deliver a storage container to you, where you can take up to three days to load your stuff, and then we'll pick up your shell and deliver it to your new home or store it safely. Do you need something from your shell while in storage or have it delivered to your new place? Give us a call, and we will deliver your stuff back to you. It's as easy as that.
