More than 69,000 votes were cast over the course of the two week voting period.
"We are so pleased that Zippy Shell had the opportunity to sponsor such a wonderful cause," says Rick Del Sontro, CEO of Zippy Shell. 'Click for Kids' was a way for us to play a small part in the important area of education in our community and we are excited to bring support to the youth of the DC metro area."
WTOP Marketing Director Mary Kay LeMay says, "In addition to providing these substantial cash prizes to help two schools, the concept also gave the participating schools the opportunity to really rally for themselves and highlight to their individual communities, their successes and also their needs. This also gave the station and our sponsor, Zippy Shell, great exposure and highlighted both our commitments to the communities we serve."
Check presentations will be made to the schools in the coming weeks.
