Zippy Shell Reaches Significant Milestone with Growth Over 100 Markets Nationwide

Zippy Shell USA reached a significant milestone in December 2014, with the announcement of 100 markets sold across the United States. In only four years of franchising, the company has sold franchise locations in 28 states and the District of Columbia, for a total of 104 markets.

A market is defined as a franchised territory of 500,000 in population. In 2014, Zippy Shell added 40 new markets, making the company one of the fastest growing companies in self-storage. Zippy Shell achieved this milestone in only its fifth year of operation, compared to one of the leading competitors, PODS®, which currently oversees roughly 150 territories after 17 years of operation.

“We are proud to have achieved this type of milestone. It’s hard to imagine that we have grown so rapidly, especially over the past two years,” says Rick Del Sontro, CEO of Zippy Shell. “The great news is that we see high growth ahead for 2015. The expansion into so many additional markets allows us to service more consumers and build our brand.”

The rapid development is a significant accomplishment for the five-year-old company, founded in 2009. Zippy Shell anticipates growing to 250-300 markets by 2020.
